In 1982, Anheuser-Bush, one of the US’ largest brewers launched its much anticipated Bud Light. It would become one of the best-selling beer brands in the country, and one of the biggest sellers worldwide – in fact, it’s the 3rd most valuable beer brand in the world.

18-24 year old drinkers in the UK were moving away from beer and there’s a trend among these consumers around moderating alcohol consumption and calorie intake. Enter Bud Light. Bud Light was launched in the UK in February 2017 and has made a huge splash! It was brought to the market to inject energy and excitement into the UK beer category and with its lighthearted personality, lower ABV and lower calorie it was the perfect beer to bring to the UK. Consumers have embraced Bud Light with open arms and even though it has only been in the market for a short period of time, it is already the second biggest contributor to category growth.

Bud Light originally launched in a 440ml can. Since its launched numerous can sizes have been developed, but the biggest innovation was the bottle. The 300ml bottle opened Bud Light to 43% of the beer drinking market who only consumer beer in bottles.

Bud Light is a refreshing American-style light lager beer with a clean, crisp taste and fast finish. Brewed for a lighter taste for easy drinkability. 3.5% ABV made for lighter times, with the friends who don’t take things too seriously.
