About San Miguel
San Miguel's journey began with a bold idea by a group of Spaniards to open the first brewery in Southeast Asia, where beer was virtually unknown. The brewery quickly expanded to Guam, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, becoming a symbol of innovation and perseverance.
By the mid-20th century, San Miguel became the most consumed beer in Asia, setting its sights on further growth. Back home, they perfected their craft, creating the “Especial” beer with high-quality ingredients. Their dedication earned them multiple awards for excellence. Expanding beyond Asia, San Miguel reached major European capitals and, in 2001, launched Spain's first true non-alcoholic beer, followed by the first organic beer in 2003.
By 2015, San Miguel had become a global brand, present in over 40 countries. Along the way, they also introduced San Miguel Radler, a refreshing lemon beer blending San Miguel Especial with natural lemon juice.
For 130 years, we have travelled the world to broaden our brewing horizons. An incredible and legendary journey. The story of a journey that began 130 years ago, motivated by the curiosity and nonconformity of those who firmly believe in their way of doing things.
