About Diekirch
1871: The Luxembourg Brewery is founded under the name “Brasserie par actions de Diekirch.” It carries on the tradition of the Récollet monks who, as early as the 18th century, brewed a renowned beer.
1880: The brewery acquires land outside the city of Diekirch, near the train station, to increase its production.
1930: A new brewery is established next to the Diekirch train station. It is considered the first industrial brewery in the country.
2000: The Luxembourg Brewery Mousel-Diekirch is born from the merger of two flagship names in Luxembourg's brewing industry: the “Brasserie de Luxembourg” and “Les brasseries réunies de Luxembourg.”
2002: The Luxembourg Brewery joins the Interbrew group, now AB-InBev (the global brewing group), which brings all its expertise.
2016: Construction begins on a new brewing facility, designed to meet the required production quantities as well as modern standards of quality and energy efficiency.
2019: With a capacity of 200,000 hectoliters per year, the new brewery opens its doors at its historic site. It continues to produce the 5 varieties of the Diekirch brand, as well as Mousel.

DIEKIRCH IS GETTING A MAKEOVER!
We are proud of our local brewery and its origins, and we are even prouder to share it with the different nationalities that make up Luxembourg. This new packaging tells the story of our Diekirch. The background canvas in shades of blue, symbolizing diversity, is composed of the nationalities most represented in Luxembourg (Luxembourg, Portugal, France, Belgium, Germany, and Italy). The celebration of our roots with the dot on the 'I' that marks Diekirch, the brewing location of our beer, on the map of Luxembourg. The unchanged tagline "À l’amitié" (To Friendship) represents the celebration of openness, inclusivity, and familiarity.
