Strategic People Business Partner S&D Germany
Rika is currently our Strategic People Business Partner but she initially joined AB InBev as an intern. As part of her bachelor’s degree, she spent three summers with our teams in Belgium, Prague and Germany. Rika has an incredible passion for working with people and helping them develop their skills at the world’s largest brewery. Read our interview below to learn more about Rika's experience during her internship.
Different countries, same culture
Rika took on a number of positions during her internship: “In Prague I was working with Masterdata and the Robotics team. In Belgium I helped with the Leadership Academy and in Germany my focus was Logistics and Finance.” Her roles have varied, but one thing has been consistent: “No matter where I am, everyone is so open minded, approachable and eager to help.”
Leading by example
“My manager was so inspiring. She’d achieved so much and she pushed me into things I didn’t think I could do.” On her internship placement in Leuven, Belgium, Rika says, “I really came to learn that you can achieve anything you want here. You just have to focus, work hard and the results will come.”
Helping others
After graduation, Rika wanted to find a role working with people. “That’s my passion. I want to work in different cultures, gain new experiences and lead global initiatives.” When asked where, exactly, Rika didn’t have to think for long. “I spent two years travelling in Latin America and thought it was such a beautiful place. AB InBev has offices in Brazil. I’d love to work out there.”
