Camden Town Brewery was founded back in 2010 with the aim of spreading the joy of great beer.

Jasper Cuppaidge began brewing beer in the basement of his pub, The Horseshoe in Hampstead, for him to serve on the bar upstairs. He then moved under 6 railway arches in Camden where we brewed our very first beer that same year - Camden Hells Lager.

In 2017, we outgrew our space under the arches, and opened the doors to our second Home of Hells up in Enfield, North London with a party amongst the tanks. We're ridiculously proud of our two breweries - from the home of Hells in Camden to our new bigger brewery up in Enfield, and love nothing more than to share what we do with others.

Alongside Hells, we brew our core range which includes Pale Ale, Ink, Gentleman’s Wit and Show Off all year round. We release seasonal beers throughout the year of any style depending on what’s influencing us and what we fancy drinking. Some examples include Strawberry Hells Forever Lager and Beer 2018 Barrel Aged Imperial Pilsner.

CLEAN + CRISP + CLASSIC

Hells is the lovechild of our two favourite German beer styles – Helles and Pilsner. Clean, crisp and dry. It’s the beer we always wanted to drink and the reason we started our brewery. We hope you agree.

In German, the word ‘lager’ means ‘to store’ and our Hells Lager spends 4 weeks in the tank. This is the proper length of time for lafering, the right amount of time for our Hells to acquire great depth of flavourand enough time to grow a pretty decent bear.

Made with traditional German ingredients. Not bratwurst or sauerkraut but Bavarian Lager year, Perle and Hallertauer Tradition hops and our own special house Pilsner malt from Bamberg (we’re one of the only two breweries outside Germany to use it).

Brand Campaigns

“Hello Hells”. It’s that love at first sip moment when you get your hands on a cold pint of Hells lager after a long day. Welcoming the weekend, heading to the pub with your friends or enjoying a beer with a takeaway. That’s a “Hello Hells” moment.

Launched across London, Manchester and Leeds in April 2018, our 6 characters popped up around cities throughout Spring, drawn and animated by illustrator Stevie Gee. They show the pure, sheer joy when you clap your eyes on your pint, can or bottle of Camden.
