An ambitious professional, Fabienne joined AB InBev’s FTL Programme, drawn by its culture, growth opportunities, and her love for beer. Through two rotations at the Prague Digital Hub, she gained insight into supporting operations across Europe. Engaging with senior leaders and peers, she built a strong network and strategic outlook. Fabiënne developed key skills and meaningful connections, overcoming challenges like adapting to new teams, and paving the way for a bright future at AB InBev.
? 1. Why did you choose to apply to our FTL Programme at AB InBev?
I applied for the FTL programme at AB InBev after attending the company presentation during a career day. After five minutes I knew it, I had to work for this company. The working culture really spoke to me, there are a lot of growth opportunities, it seemed like a very fun company and of course I love beer. :)
? 2. How did the two 6-month rotations in the Prague Digital Hub help you understand the role of support functions and operations within the company?
The Prague office runs all operations for Zone Europe and beyond was what we were told. This did not mean much to me at the time, but it became clear during my first days within the company already. We collaborate with many stakeholders across multiple countries-brewery workers, carriers, field sales representatives, and many others. Each of them operates within their respective regions, and without the work we do in Prague, they would not be able to do their job.
? 3. How did the capstone sessions and networking with senior leaders influence your understanding of AB InBev’s overall strategy and your career direction?
During the three capstone sessions, we not only got to meet up with trainees from across Zone Europe, but we also had the opportunity to gain valuable insights from AB InBev’s senior leaders and to learn about how each department contributes to the company’s long-term vision. Seeing how these leaders have built enduring careers within the company was truly inspiring. Until this day I am still in close contact with trainees within different countries and it’s exciting to see them now progress into new roles.
? 4. What personal challenges have you faced throughout your journey, and what helped you overcome them?
During the trainee year, you'll face numerous changes. From starting a full-time job for the first time to taking on a project alongside daily operations after just two months. You deal with people changes and six months in, you switch rotations. Moving from one team to another also taught me the need to adjust my ways of working and communication. This came with its challenges, but it also helped me develop new skills and build strong connections with amazing new colleagues.
