Roger, Jan,
Maria,
FTL Programme
? Why did you choose to apply to our FTL Programme at AB InBev?
Roger: I applied to AB InBev's FTL Programme because I value ambition, honesty, and accountability, which align with the company's principles. I am excited about the opportunity for growth, as well as the company's commitment to innovation and sustainability. Company principles of ownership and dreaming big align with my ambition and drive to impact processes while building an intercultural, and open communication environment.
? How did the two 6-month rotations in the Prague Digital Hub help you understand the role of support functions and operations within the company?
María: The rotations played a key role in preparing me for my leadership position. Each position exposed me to different parts of the company, and each one contributed to shaping my view of the operations. Through these roles, I was able to understand different systems, learn how different markets work and meet a wide range of stakeholders. In addition, I was able to obtain a wide overview and understanding of the processes and pain points present in our processes- allowing me to make much more informed decisions as a leader.
Roger: During my two 6-month rotations at Prague Digital Hub, I gained extensive knowledge of support functions and operations. In the International Supply Chain team for Mexico, I learned the importance of accurately tracking all inventory stock levels and the preventive actions that can be taken to deliver fresh beer to our customers, whereas in the Supply Chain Planning team for Belgium, I saw how important efficient order management is and how it can have an impact on the entire supply chain.
? Can you describe a project you worked on that had an impact on improving processes or identifying operational efficiencies? What skills did you develop through this experience?
Jan: The advantage of working at AB InBev is that you’re never really working on only one project and this variety keeps you on your toes and demonstrating your value continuously. Working on a voice bot project and automating processes, creating PowerBI visibility of customers and their financial performance, implementing changes to how stand-ups and meetings are structured were just a taste of this.
? How did the capstone sessions and networking with senior leaders influence your understanding of AB InBev’s overall strategy and your career direction?
Jan: Seeing senior leaders from Day 1 makes you feel very empowered and at the same time, gives you the right understanding of both, the strategy of the company as well as brands directly from the source. Having a mentor, who is a senior figure at the company in Prague, to guide you through some leadership challenges as well as career planning, allowed me to better understand where I would have the most fun while playing to my strengths and continuing my development.
? What personal challenges have you faced throughout your journey, and what helped you overcome them?
Roger: One of my biggest challenges through this year has been managing multiple priorities while developing leadership skills. Learning to balance time management and task prioritization was key. My mentor played a critical role in helping me facing these challenges by offering guidance, support, and encouragement. His feedback helped me grow, improving both my leadership and decision-making abilities.
